  • Overview

    The Business Analyst / Project Manager assists in the gathering and development of business requirements for technology enablement projects, develops and manages technology enablement project plans and the overall program management for all CORP IT projects.


    • Work with the project teams (business and CORP IT) to define true business requirements.      
    • Must have a solid understanding of the business requirements.
    • Work with the CORP IT in refining the business requirements and mapping to technical delivery requirements.
    • Evaluate and recommend new business processes. Ensure the new business process changes are implemented. Incorporate change throughout the organization as required.
    • Work with the business management team and CORP IT to develop the project charter including: overview, approach, budget, organization, measures of success, and communication plan.
    • Understand strategies as stated in the executive summary, project scope, goals and objectives.
    • Determine how project will impact department and business processes. Communicate this and project status across Pace Analytical Services.
    • Evaluate, review and research change requests. Communicate impact to the project plan or business processes. Obtain necessary approvals from affected business area and CORP IT.
    •  Develop and maintain project plans. Maintain project documentation. Review all significant project plans, decisions and changes and provide input to the Executive Sponsors.
    • Adhere to the change control procedure including project documentation updates, corrective actions, documentation of lessons learned, and communication of approved changes.
    • Develop communications including weekly/monthly status reports, project team meetings, regular meetings with the Executive Sponsors, and Pace Steering Committee.
    • Facilitate working sessions and other meetings as required.
    • Coordinate tasks and resources. Understand the resource needs for both business and CORP IT.
    • Identify resource and task contention, propose solutions for mitigating, escalate when needed for a business decision or resolution, and forecast budgetary and resource needs.
    • Resolve and negotiate business and technical solutions in order to ensure project continuance. Escalate as needed if resolution is outside your authority.
    • Maintain key decision log and change request log. Communicate decisions, issues and changes to the project team.
    • Coordinate overall resources for testing, training, user documentation, and implementation.
    • Project closeout activities including delivery and acceptance of deliverables, closeout report, and review meeting.
    • Performs other duties as needed.
    • Promotes cooperation and teamwork among staff
    • Must follow PACE policies and Standard Operating Procedures


    • Bachelor degree in the sciences or equivalent technical experience
    • Identifying and defining true business requirements
    • Managing projects that range in size from 1 to 24 months in duration
    • Solid understanding of project/program management approach and methodologies.
    • Solid understanding of Pace’s business model and supporting business processes.
    • Possess strong verbal, oral, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to communicate with all level of employees in a professional manner.
    • Ability to influence change within the organization.
    • Independent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
    • Ability to resolve and remove obstacles to a projects completion.
