    This candidate will work with manufacturing to facility quality initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for leading root cause analysis for product nonconformance including but not limited to product warranty, customer complaints, out of box failures and production
    • Review design drawings and changes, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses
    • Provides support to assigned operation group including visual aids and inspection analyses
    • Serve as “consultant” in making “accept or “reject” decisions
    • Utilize and drive six sigma tools and principles including design and process FMEAs and capability studies to determine where potential problems exist and take steps to achieve necessary corrective, preventive actions.
    • Define failure mode root cause and drive corrective action including definition of process to validate effective corrective action
    • Data collection and analysis, making product or process change recommendations based on findings
    • Review requirements, acceptance criteria, functional design, technical design, and use case design documents to determine testability
    • Provide estimates for planning, development and execution of test efforts
    • Create accurate and informative Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Strategies that clearly describe test environment, setup, risks, assumptions, strategy, and roles/responsibilities
    • Create detailed test cases that clearly describe the pre/post conditions, test executions steps, and expected results
    • Execute test cases to assess the condition and quality of software builds, releases, and bug fixes
    • Document results of executed test cases, for tracking during project and for permanent record of runs
    • Track projects to completion and evaluate effectiveness of programs and actions
    • Review quality trends based on quality data system information and interaction with inspectors and production personnel
    • Participate in the generation and implementation of defect-reduction programs
    • Assist with Root Cause analysis and implementation of corrective action
    • Generate Engineering Change Requests
    • Evaluate discrepant hardware determine its disposition or referral to the Material Review Board
    • Interact with representatives from functional groups as well as within the Quality Team
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
    • Participate in Material Review Board (or Rally Point) actions as requested
    • May perform source inspections and/or surveys, involving visits to a supplier's facility to evaluate adherence to the company's quality requirements for products or systems
    • May assist the Service Department in evaluating field returns to identify any failure trends and perform failure analysis
    • Ensure product and process adherence of Scott Safety Quality Management System (QMS), defined and documented to comply with the Q9001-2008 ISO standard, ATEX Directive, EN 13980 and IECEx OD/005

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited college/university, in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering.
    • General understanding of government regulations, policies or regulations including ISO 9001:2015, ATEX, EN13980 and IEC_EX.  Assist with insuring the company is in compliance with all governmental regulations
    • Keen understanding and practical application of Lean Six Sigma tools and principles. LSS Certification a plus
    • Knowledge of manufacturing and product development processes
