Associate Chemist (2nd Shift)

The Associate Chemist will provide analytical and technical support to new product development. They will complete analytical testing and various lab support functions in a timely manner and according to cGMPs. 


Hours: 2:30PM-11PM Monday-Friday



  • Read, understand, and follow current laboratory SOPs, analytical methods, and study protocols
  • Document equipment usages and analytical results in a timely manner that can be readily followed by reviewers and is consistent with cGMP and in-house SOPs
  • Serve as instrument owner: review and audit instrument calibrations, perform routine instrument maintenance and calibrations
  • Perform analytical testing according to established or preliminary methods such as:
    • Cleaning validation samples
    • Dissolutions
    • Assay
    • Impurities/degradation products
    • Content/blend uniformity
    • pH, viscosity, titrations
    • Residual solvents
    • General USP testing
  • Generate reviews, evaluate stability data, and establish trends within stability studies
  • Describe testing challenges and present supporting data in 1:1 and small group settings.
  • With supervision, prioritize assigned tasks and AIP goals based on work group needs
  • Gather source documentation or summary data required for regulatory submissions or technical reviews
  • With assistance and oversight, perform testing for method validations and write validation protocols and reports 


  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field with at least 12 credits of college chemistry
  • 2-5 years of analytical experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong prioritization, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • HPLC, GC, titration, and dissolution experience, including troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to write reports that can easily be followed by reviewers  
  • Experience with PCs, cGMPS, and USP testing
  • Positive attitude and works well with a team
