We are actively seeking a candidate to act as a hiring and onboarding specialist within our Oakdale, MN location. Previous technical experience working within the laboratory is preferred.  Onboarding activities include establishing regular communication with new employees, ensuring new employees feel welcomed, and organizing and coordinating the training plan with assistance from the functional area supervisors.

The ideal candidate is one who will thrive working in a highly dynamic, team oriented environment; sharing the common goal of providing reliable data to our clients that can be used to improve the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical products. Candidates must have the ability to communicate and interact professionally with job candidates and management, and be able to demonstrate their interest in continuing to acquire new knowledge and skills. This position is classified as a specialist I or II position (based on experience level).


  • Work with the Pace LabOps division to understand and fully utilize the tools available to assist with recruitment and onboarding of staff
  • Interview and pre-screen entry level job candidates with a focus on general technical ability and the behaviors required to work within a dynamic contract laboratory environment; providing laboratory management with qualified candidates for on-site interviews
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external recruitment resources and assist laboratory management in the hiring process associated with senior level staff
  • Coordinate phone screens and on-site interviews for all job candidates
  • Serve as primary resource for coordinating on-boarding activities
  • Establish regular communication with the new employees
  • Use supporting tools and resources, such as the Onboarding Checklist / Standard Work to encourage smooth transition
  • Connect the new employee with key information, resources, and people within the organization


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent previous industry experience
  • Prior experience with interviewing, hiring, and training employees is a plus
  • Prior experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills required
