Overview

Responsible for supporting the Quality and Safety Manager in maintaining and verifying the operating of the quality system and safety program of the Pace Analytical Field Services Division. Works independently to perform a wide range of quality tasks while routinely interacting with Pace field employees on program compliance

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties to support ongoing compliance of the quality system and safety program such as printing or scanning documents, assembling logbooks, tracking quality parameters, periodically reviewing records, and other duties
  • Promote good quality and safety practices through strict adherence to Pace policies, standard operating procedures, safety procedures, ensuring open lines of communication between Quality / Safety Office and department staff, and participating in safety committee meetings and quality meetings
  • Maintain safety program compliance by performing equipment and work area inspections, providing information, signs, barriers, and other materials to warn employees of potential and actual safety hazards, reporting safety issues, and monitoring and obtaining supplies for safety kits
  • Support safety program training by conducting new-employee safety orientations, performing respirator fit-testing, and maintaining necessary training records
  • Assist in documentation of client feedback, nonconformances, and audit findings and collaborate in investigating and monitoring corrective and preventive actions including those to maintain accreditations
  • Review and verify project data deliverables for compliance to documented policy and procedures of the quality system and applicable accreditations
  • Evaluate the implementation and efficiency of quality systems and contribute ideas and work towards process improvements and system efficiencies
  • Assist Quality and Safety Manager with other work as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Self-discipline to work independently, along with the judgment to seek supervision and/or input from others when necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to record detailed information accurately and in a timely manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of instructions, technical procedures and governmental regulations
  • Skills to complete basic calculations, compute percentages, apply significant figures and rounding operations, and understand advanced mathematical operations
  • Knowledge of field sampling and regulatory standards such as ISO 17025, ASTM 7036, TNI
