Overview

Division: Pace Analytical Energy Services 

 

The SAS Program Manager is the sales leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more SAS Programs, i.e. Air, and in that role is responsible for the overall management and growth of the program(s). The Program Manager’s objective is to master the Program in question and become a resource in regards to both knowledge and training for both Pace personnel and our client base. The Program Manager will also be responsible for the territorial management and growth of all SAS Programs in an assigned geographic territory. As the SAS Territory Leader the objective is to maximize all SAS sales through development of a sound territory strategy and support of the local Pace Sales Team. Each of these roles is discussed in greater detail below.

 

Location: Pittsburgh preferred, but will consider candidates in other locations

Responsibilities

  • Set and achieve sales goals and revenue objectives for the specific SAS Program
  • Research major account targets on a national basis and develop winning strategies
  • Track deadlines for responses to major RFPs and plan work accordingly: Determine competition, bid selection criteria, and assist strategy, pricing and response
  • Develop the Sales/Marketing Plan for the ProgramMarket overview, significant trends and forecasted growth
  • Generate leads for follow up
  • Secure new opportunities or growth with existing accounts
  • Submit a post conference evaluation to management
  • Develop and maintain marketing tools as needed to build the Program
  • Assist all Pace business units and the Pace sales force with the tools and training to maximize sales of the specific SAS Program
  • Communicate regularly with management on progress and support required to accomplish Program objectives
  • Set and achieve territory sales goals and objectives for all SAS Programs
  • Gain complete understanding of territorial markets and target clients
  • Develop an effective strategy to maximize SAS revenue and territory growth
  • Build a personal travel plan and budget to support regular territory travel and strategic national travel
  • Lead/coordinate territory sales/marketing efforts toward achieving territory goals
  • Assume primary responsibility for the sale of SAS Programs to territory laboratories
  • Attend sales calls and lead sales efforts with key territory targets
  • Generate Leads From Advertising – Increase exposure and improve market penetration
  • Maintain positive client relationships and establish ongoing contact with existing growth clients in order to gain new opportunities

Qualifications

  • College degree (BA/BS) is required
  • 5+ years laboratory, environmental or business related experience required
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
