Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting novel research into new areas of Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, and Biochemistry. This innovation leading role requires the ability to participate in the design and execution of experiments as well as the ability analyze and interpret data.

 

Note: This position is expected to be one year in length.

Responsibilities

  • Work with scientists to plan, develop, and execute innovative research
  • Carry out complex experiments involving a variety of lab skills to achieve project goals
  • Conduct analyses for internal and external customers on an as needed basis
  • Maintain the research lab to the safety and functional standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology, or equivalent
  • 2 years of related lab experience
  • US Citizenship required
  • Strong knowledge and experience with the theory, methods and operation of a variety of chromatography systems including HPLC, FPLC, and standard column chromatography
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis with demonstrated lab skills of pipetting, weighing and dilution
  • Previous experience with enzyme reactions and measurement desirable
  • Experience with Waters Empower software a plus
  • Experience in data analysis including statistics
  • Presentation skills to include experience with using Excel or Sigma Plot graphing and PowerPoint
  • Strong bias for action and highly self-sufficient work style
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
