The Regulatory Specialist in Trade Compliance is responsible for supporting trade compliance programs and activities with a primary focus on NA import/export trade regulations.


This individual will primarily be responsible for ongoing maintenance of classification requests and tasks centered around the four basic export control questions – who, what, where, and how items are shipped. This individual will also act as a back-up for internal documentation reviews pertaining to US import and export compliance. The position will involve working with third party logistics partners, plant personnel, customs brokers, and coordinating with other corporate departments.


  • Classification, auditing, database management, process development / maintenance, training,  reporting and metrics of both chemical and equipment products
  • Coordinating, preparing, submitting, and securing all necessary paperwork for regulatory permits and registrations
  • Supporting R&D requests for shipping samples outside of the standard ERP system to ensure compliance with export regulations
  • Providing reporting information to government agencies (chemical weapons reporting) and 3rd party providers
  • Providing KPI’s and monthly metrics regarding number of requests and turnaround time


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering 
  • 3 years of experience within Global Trade and/or Regulatory Affairs field, 5+ years preferred
  • Experience with excel, VBA code, and SAP preferred
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
