Overview

EHS Specialist - Confined Spaces

 

The EHS Specialist will work to develop new safety procedures and assist with implementation of these procedures. They will perform site inspections, hazard analyses of confined spaces, and support businesses to meet safety goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will work to interpret OSHA’s rules and regulations and ensure they are being implemented properly to achieve client compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Write, maintain, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processes such as Lock Out Tag Out or Confined Space and complete hazard evaluations
  • Identify proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be used based on hazard analysis
  • Input data into central operating program for analysis and trending and communicates to plant operations and management
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by client

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline
  • Master's in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related discipline OR 2-5 years EHS experience
  • Possess problem solving and risk analysis skills with the ability to work independently and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a team player, have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be self-motivated and results-oriented, have the ability to schedule in-person meetings with supervisors and engineers, and be highly productive to achieve end-goal
  • US Person status required
