Overview

Responsible for the collection of a variety of environmental samples of varying materials.  Performs a variety of field analytical tests and various computer spreadsheet, database and graphics functions. May perform chemistry analyses for a variety of analytes using analytical laboratory instrumentation. Has responsibility for direct supervision of other technicians. Acts as lead technician on complex projects.

 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

Responsibilities

  • Sampling and analyzing air/source streams using analysis and EPT test methods
  • Leading project teams providing direction to others in group
  • Performing Project Manager duties, such as preparing bids, test plans, and client reports
  • Responsible for project initiation and contact follow up
  • Developing sampling plans and preparing Test Plan documents
  • Coordinating personnel, supply and equipment resources
  • Coordinating sample analyses with the laboratories
  • Reviewing project documentation for completeness, method compliance and contract fulfillment
  • Using and preparing computer spreadsheets to organize and display test results
  • Promoting cooperation and teamwork among staff
  • Following Pace policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from 4-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid State Driver’s License and clean motor vehicle record
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the laboratory service area
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 100 pounds
